Dalhousie is one of the most popular tourist hill stations of Himachal Pradesh. The destination is called ‘Little Switzerland of India’ which is situated in Chamba district in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Dalhousie situated at a distance of 82 km from Pathankot with at an altitude of 2010 mts above the sea level. Dalhousie is popularly known for its pleasant climate and amazing nature beauty. Dalhousie was got its name from Lord Dalhousie the British Governor-General who established this town in 1854 as a popular summer destination. Best Time to visit Dalhousie:

Panchpula: It is a perfect getaway for picnic which is surrounding by the lush green forest, various waterfalls and amazing viewpoint. Panchpula mean five bridges and it is a water fall where five streams came together. It also a perfect place for trekking. The water streams originate from the northern side of Dayakund.

Kalatop Wildlife Reserve: It is a high altitude forests located at an elevation of 2500 mts above the sea level. It is a beautiful forest situated in between the thick pine, deodar and oak forests. You can also find here Himalayan Black Bear, Pheasants, Himalayan Black Marten, Asian Koala and 120 different species of Birds etc.

Dainkund Peak: It is the highest point of Dalhousie with at an elevation of 2745 mts above the sea level. At the top of the area watching over the beautiful landscape of Dalhousie.

Subhash Baoli: It is a similar to other hill station but connectivity with history make ir different. It got its name from famous freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose. It is believed that the place has a spring which has medicinal properties.

St. Francis Church: It is counted in the most beautiful churches in the city which was built in 1894. The church was founded by the Indian Army. The Beautiful wooden roof, Colorful Belgium Glass and stone structure made it different.

Chamera Lake: It is a beautiful artificial lake which is made on the side of The Chamera Dam. The Lake received water supply from Ravi River. It is around 25 km from Dalhousie.

Garam sadak: It is a unique name due to its real fact. It is hotter because it received direct sunlight but it is a perfect way to find Dalhousie. Sach Pass, Satdhara Falls, St. John Church, Chamunda Devi Temple, Chamba etc are the other major attraction of the place.

St. John’s Church: One of the oldest churches in Dalhousie which was built in the time when British ruled in India. This church is most visited church of town.

Rang Mahal: Rang Mahal was founded by the Raja Umed Singh. This is a perfect bland of British and Mughal style of Architecture. Rang mahal is one of the major attraction of the place.

Bhuri Singh Museum: This museum was established in 1908 anf got its name from illustrious king Raja Bhuri Singh.

Laxmi Narayan Temple: Laxmi Narayan Temple is the oldest and largest of all the temples located in Chamba region. This temple complex was constructed in 10th century by Sahil Verman. This temple is houses of six shrines which are dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva.

Chamunda Devi Temple: Chamunda Devi Temple is around 750 years old which is situated on the bank of beautiful Baner River. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali.

Ganji Pahari: Ganji Pahari is situated at a distance of 5 km from the town and one of the best places for trekking. The hill is easily accessible which makes it a perfect place for picnic and offered the most beautiful views of Surrounding.

Sach Pass: This Pass is situated in Sach Town which is 15 km from Killar in chamba district. It is a perfect trekking trail and blesses with most beautiful picturesque landscape.

Bakrota Hills: Bakrota hill is majestic hills surrounding by thick forest of Oak, pine and deodar and the popular visiting place situated around 5 km from Dalhousie. This hill is offered the views of snow capped Himalayan peaks and here you will get trekking experiences.

Rock Garden: Rock Garden is situated on the way from Dalhousie to Chamera Lake and it is a peaceful garden for relaxing and far from hustle and bustle of busy life.

Khajjiar: It is a small town which is located near the Dalhousie and popularly known as the Mini Switzerland of India.
