Best time to visit Shimla:

Summer: Summer (March to till June) is the best time to visit Shimla. The days are cool with pleasant temperature. During summer lots of tourists visit Shimla for enjoying the summer holidays.
Winters: November to January is the winter season at Shimla. Winters are pleasant and cool here and a paradise for who enjoy with snow. During the winters the destination is covered with snow.

Toy Train to Kalka: It is an enjoyable toy train ride and the route is one of the most picturesque in the world which passed through more than hundreds of tunnels.

Jakhoo Temple: The temple has world’s largest Lord Hanuman Statue which is visible most of the part of Shimla. Jakhoo temple is an ancient temple and lots of hindu devotees visit this. It is believed that Lord Hanuman rested here when he was found Sanjeevani booti to save Laxman Life.

Institute of Advanced Studies: The Indian Institute of Advanced Studies located on the observatory hills. Now it is converted into an educational institute which offered the post –doctoral courses.

The Christ Church: It is located at the Mall Road and it is second oldest church in North India. The Neo-Gothic architecture is one of the major attractions to visit this Church.

Himachal State Museum: It is located on the Mall Road and the museum is popular for its unique collections like Ancients coins, Paintings and other handicraft items.

Gurudwara Sahib: This Gurudwara was constructed in 1907 at Padhawa Hills. The Gurudwara is a small construction but its interior make it must visited place.

Annadale: Annadale is one of the most popular attractions of Shimla. During the pre- independent period it is one of the favorite locations of British. Kalibari Temple: Kalibari is one of the most ancient temples in Shimla which is dedicated to Goddess Kali. The temple was built in 1845 and the idol of the Goddess Kali is well adorned with beautiful dresses, jewelry, and colorful flowers.

Chadwick Falls: Chadwick fall is a famous attraction among the tourists which is surrounding by the thick green forest. The waterfall dropping from a height of about 86 mts. It is a great picnic place with family and friends.

Kufri: Kufri is one of the most visited destinations of Shimla situated about 13 km away from Main town. It is a picturesque hill station and the cool and pleasant climate makes it more attractive. The location is famous for its snow fall and snow activities like skiing. Skiing is one of the most popular activities which performed here. An annual winter festival is held here in February.

Chail: Chail is a small village situated at an elevation of 2250 mts above the sea level. It is a paradise for hikers. This location is popularly known for its world’s highest Cricket and Polo Grounds, surrounding by the lush green and offered most panoramic views of the great height. Situated at a distance of 63 km from Shimla.

Tatapani: It is a small village located at a distance of 51 km from Shimla. It is popular for its hot water springs which contained sulpher contents. Apart from this Hindu Temple and Shiva Goofa make it more attractive.

Mashobra Tourism: Mashobra is a popular hills site which is known for its wide range of flora and fauna and Orchards of Apples. The town is famous for its old world charm apart from that its is popular fir adventurous activities like trekking, horse riding, boating etc.

Solan: Solan is one of the most visited destinations of Himachal. This place is popularly known for its Mushroom productions and the hill station is known as the Mushroom capital of India situated 50 km away from Shimla. Festivals which celebrated in Shimla:

Bharara Fair: Bharara Fair is held every year in the village of Bharara and the fair is held in the honour of Lord Koteshwar. This festival has been celebrated ancient in Shimla. The idol of Lord Koteshwar is well decorated with flowers, jewelry and clothing. The Nati dance is a traditional dance which performed here during Bharara festival.

Bhoj Fair: Vhoj Fair is one of the most beautiful and colored festival which is celebrated in Gumman village. This festival is celebrated in the honor of Lord Banashur, Lord Parshuram and Lord Kilbaru. Every year in the month of November this festival is celebrated here. Devotees from nearby regions visit this fair and celebrate.

Lavi Fair: Lavi Fair is a unique event which is held in Rampur. This festival is celebrated every year in the month of November from 11 to 14th and this festival is attended by the large number of merchants and businessmen. It is an international level trade fair which is held in this region around 300 years


How to reach Shimla:

By Air: Shimla has own Airport which is known as the Jubbarhatti Airport situate around 20 km from the main city. Taxies and Buses are easily available to reach shimla city. Shimla Airport is not functional throughout the year so choose Chandigarh or Delhi Airport.
By Train: Kalka Railway station is the nearest Railhead situated at a distance of 90 km from Shimla. The other Railway Station is 113 km away from Shimla. The destination is well connected to the local buses and cabs.
By Road: Delhi and Chandigarh are well connected by the National Highway to Reach Shimla.
