Chobia Pass Trek Himachal

Chobia Pass Trek is the second highest altitude pass in the Pir- Panjal range which is situated at an altitude of 4966 m above the sea level. The pass has remarkable nature beauty. It is an interesting and adventurous trek which takes 5 to 6 days and one of the tough treks of Himachal. It is located in the Pir – Panjal range and provides you most beautiful views. On the way you can see rare Occasion and study the customs and rituals of the local- Gaddi. You can see how shepherd live their life here with their flocks. The people Gaddi are totally dedicated to their God and Goddess like Shiva, Lord Kartik and Goddess Marali Mata. It is an ideal trekking route for Adventurous lovers. This pass connected Chamba with Lahaul across the Pir – Panjal range which is located between the two Peaks – Tent Peak and Barakanda Peak.

Bharmour is the base village to reach Chobia Pass and the way has two roads to Bharmaur one is via Banikhet and Chamba while the other route is via Khajjiar and Chamba. First road is long but has better road and the second route is narrow and hilly take 4 hours drive to reach from Dalhousie to Bharmour. This trail will take you to Chenab Valley. Chobia pass trek will surprise you with the enchanting ancient trails of Gaddis. On the way you will need a walking stick, Trekking shoes, Woolen clothes, water, juices, snacks, electric torch.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 01: Bharmour
Bharmour, once known as Brahmpura was established in 6th and 10th centuries and it is the capital of Chamba. You can visit lots of temple here. After check in the hotel take some rest. In Evening you will visit Chaurasi ancient temples, after Arti/Darshan return back to hotel. Enjoy Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02: Bharmour – Hadsar
After having breakfast in the hotel you will depart towards Hadsar. This a beautiful Village you can enjoy the nature beauty, Shiva Temple and spend some time near the bank of Budhi River and Gauri Stream.

Day 03: Hadsar – Chobia- Kathedu Temple
After morning breakfast will move through the trek where you can enjoy the various ascents and descents to the chobia village. Now back from hadsar of 3 km and go step down of 2 km and cross a bridge and reach small thalla village. After reach Chobia take lunch and some rest and cross small stream and reach village Kao. During August and September for run of 2 hours reach at kathedu temple along with small stream. Dinner and Overnight stay here.

Day 04: Kathedu Temple – Alyas
After having breakfast in the early morning we will move towards Alyas. It is a base ground of Passes or Camp side is called Alyas locally called Lahesh. Reach at Alyas and enjoy the Lunch at camp site and whole left will spend here. Dinner and overnight stay at campsite.

Day 05: Alyas - Chobia Pass - Alyas
Today we will move towards Chobia Pass and trek will start early in the morning at 4 o clock. After having light breakfast we will move alyas but today trekking is depends on weather. Ensure that the snow is frozen for walking and cross the pass before 12:00 noon because snow fall, rainfall and heavy snow winds create a big problem. You will face the challenging trail about 6 km hard climbing to the pass take 5- 7 hours. You can enjoy the most beautiful panoramic views of Zaskar Range to the North and the Manimahesh range to the south. Taking Lunch at Alyas enjoy the left day her and Overnight stay at Alyas.

Day 06: Alyas – Trilokinath – Udaipur
After breakfast start descends 14 km to the east side of the Chobia pass for about 6 km over rocky terrain. Then cross and descends to reach the small village of Bhaghot. Turn west side along the river through forest and pleasant fields and reach Trilokinath village. This village has an ancient Buddhist temple there is a big marble statue of God Avalokiteshvar situated. Now the trail will go down to cross the river and join the main highway to Udaipur. Now we will take a taxi to reach Udaipur and night stay at the hotel.

Day 07: Udaipur – Kelong- Manali
After having breakfast at hotel you will visit the temple of Mirkla Mata at Udaipur we will move towards Kelong. After keylong move to Manali via Rohtang pass and enjoy the Rohtang pass around 1 hour. On reach Manali you can explore the beauty of Charming Manali.
