Kalicho Pass Trek Himachal

Kalicho Pass Trek is one of the toughest pass of Himachal Pradesh to reach Lahaul Valley. This beautiful pass located at an altitude of 4990 m above the sea level and lies on the Pir- Panjal range. Kalicho Pass named after Goddess Bhadrakali and this trail is used by Gaddi shepherd to reach Lahaul valley from Bharmour. It is an ideal trek for adventure lovers and quite popular among adventure junkies. This trek is bounded by Miyar Nala in the Chenab valley and Lahaul and also located near the Ravi Valley. There is a small temple dedicated to Goddess kali which is situated at the top of the pass. This beautiful trek starts from Bharmour via Kalicho pass and ends to Keylong like – Bharmous – Bhadra – Leudi – Bansar- Alyas – Kalicho Pass – Trilokinath – Keylong.

Kalicho pass trek is difficult and full of Adventurous with steep gradient. You can take 18 km downhill trek to reach Trilokinath temple from Kalicho Pass. You can enjoy the drive from Bharmour to Badgram and start trek from Badgram to reach Bhadra via thick forest. Bhadra is famous for Banni Devi Temple and it is the last village to reach Kalicho Pass. It is believed that if anyone pass this trek has to take permission from Goddess Bhadrakali and the temple is located in Banni Village. Sometime Shepherd sacrifices few sheeps at the temple to take permission. If someone has not got permission to cross the pass so they have to spend next six months near Banni range. Only 3 batches are allowed to cross the pass every season. Before starting the trek to Kalicho visit The Banni Devi Temple to take blessings. You can take 5 km trek to reach Alyas and via Kalicho move towards Trilokinath Temple. You can take around 5 hours to reach at the top of Kalicho pass. Enjoy the difficult trek and start down trek to reach Famous Trilokinath Temple.
