Kugti Pass trek is one of the most beautiful treks located in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh which fall under the Pir – Panjal range. It is situated at an elevation of 5050m above the sea level. It is a perfect destination for trekkers to experience the beauty of Himachal Pradesh. Almost it used by the Gaddi Tribes to cross over Lahaul and Spiti valley. You can enjoy the rare trek and on the way you can pass through apple orchards, Pine forests and Over Miles of Green meadows and waterfalls are everywhere. Beautiful green grass and water stream makes the trek attractive.
The Kugti Pass Trek is climb up to 16,600 ft and many sections are beautiful. After climbing you can reach Duggi Plain that is an ideal place for trekkers and camping. During the way to summit trek you will get an experience of majestic Mani Mahesh Kailash Peak, beautiful Dhauladhar range and charming views of snow capped mountain Lahaul Valley. This trek starts from Brahmaur to Kugti Pass and on the way you can visit Murkula Devi Temple. You can reach Duggi camping ground through alpine meadows that is the confluence of Budhi River and Duggi Streams.
Kugti Pass Trek is a high Altitude trek which is passed through Pir-Panjal range. This is an interesting and adventurous trek which takes 5- 6 days to complete. It is not more difficult trail. The beauty of Pir- Panjal range is provides you a rare occasion to see. Don’t forget to visit Kartik and Mata Marala Temple on the way from Kugti village to Duggi. When you enter the Duggi valley you can see Hanging Glaciers, crossing water stream, snow covered mountains, lush meadows and Cascading Rivers.
Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival in Bharmour
The starting destination for this trek is Bharmour to reach Kugti Pass which is located in Chamba district. Bharmour is popularly known for ancient temple that was constructed in 10th century. After check in the hotel take some rest and welcome drink. In the evening a trip to Chaurasi Temple built in 7th century and there 84 individual shrines are situated here which is the houses of Lord Ganesh, Hanuman and Lord Krishna.
Day 02: Bharmour – Hadsar – Kugti
After having breakfast in the hotel you will depart towards hadsar village through Himalayan. Where you will start hiking reach at Dhanaul where you can take rest and enjoy tea after that continue to Kugti Pass trek. One the way you will cross a bridge to reach Kugti. Kugti is a beautiful village enjoy take the Lunch and Dinner here and overnight stay will be arranged at this beautiful village.
Day 03: Kugti – Duggi
After breakfast in Kugti the trekking will continue towards Duggi. Hiking on this trail you will reach a temple which is dedicated to Lord Kartikeya. Take some rest in the temple and continue the trail, through lush meadows and beautiful water stream. When you reach Duggi village a grassy and rocky valley is visible on the mountain slopes. Enjoy the Lunch and dinner, overnight stay on the camp side.
Day 04: Duggi – Alyas
Today after having breakfast you will proceed towards Alayas which is locally know as Lahesh. On the way you can across a tributary of Budhil River and after that pass narrow streams, jumping from Rock to Rocks etc. Cross this beautiful river by the bridge. After hiking through the valley you can reach a wide stream which meets the budhil rivulet. This is a picturesque location will captured with cameras. Alyas is open grassland where you can enjoy the various species of flora and fauna and the location that is offered the most amazing views of surrounding mountains. Dinner and Lunch, overnight stay at camp site.
Day 05: Alyas – Kugti Pass – Kodlu Alyas
Today you will move towards Kugti Pass from Alyas after having breakfast. When you reach Kugti Pass enjoy the amazing views of surrounding snow capped mountains, distant Himalayan Range and Mount Manimahesh Kailash. Lots of Bells and colorful flags are indicate the shrine of Goddess Marali Devi which is deity of Kugti Pass. After enjoying and resting at summit start the downhill hike. You can take 2 hours to reach Kodlu Alyas which is located in Lahaul and Spiti district. Enjoy the meals and overnight stay.
Day 06: Kodlu Alyas – Jobrang – Manali
After breakfast continue the trip reach Rashil Stream. Start downhill to reach beautiful village of Jobrang. At Jobrang you will start drive to Manali.
